At Lifeworks Chiropractic, we offer nutritive counseling services and various analyses for your nutritional health including the following:

MethylGenetic Nutrition Genetic Test

In partnership with Professional Health Products, we help you understand the roles that your genes, nutrition, and lifestyle play as they work together to shape your overall health.

What is nutrigenomics? Nutrigenomics is the study of how nutrition interacts with an individual’s genetic makeup to affect health and disease. Nutrigenomics tests are laboratory tests that analyze specific genetic variations, called single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), to provide personalized nutrition and lifestyle recommendations based on an individual’s genetic profile.

By completing the test kit, you will receive a personalized report with results and supplement recommendations across various areas: allergy and sensitivity, blood sugar and cardiovascular impacts, elimination, energy and metabolism, GI and digestion, neurological and mood, oxidative stress and inflammation, and more.

Microbiome Testing

The microbiome consists of microbes that are both helpful and potentially harmful. Most are symbiotic (where both the human body and microbiota benefit) and some, in smaller numbers, are pathogenic (promoting disease). In a healthy body, pathogenic and symbiotic microbiota coexist without problems. But if there is a disturbance in that balance—brought on by infectious illnesses, certain diets, or the prolonged use of antibiotics or other bacteria-destroying medications—dysbiosis occurs, stopping these normal interactions. As a result, the body may become more susceptible to disease.*

What is microbiome testing? Microbiome testing is the use of next generation genetic sequencing and bioinformatic analysis to compare a patient’s microbiome with that of a normal/healthy individual. This will reveal the composition, balance and levels of bacteria and fungi inside of the gut from a stool sample.

Utilizing Standard Process’s Microbiome Test Kit, we help you to measure, modify, and monitor your microbiome health and support your gut with the right supplements specifically for you.

Dysbiosis Cleanse

Dysbiosis is a state of imbalance that occurs when there is an overgrowth of harmful bacteria and a loss of good intestinal flora in the bowels. This can cause symptoms such as bloating, constipation, diarrhea, heartburn, bad breath, abdominal pain, lactose intolerance, chronic fatigue, joint pain, fibromyalgia, allergies, yeast infection, thrush, lowered libido, mental fog, sugar cravings, weight gain, skin problems, nail fungi, hyperactivity, learning/behavioral disorders, depression, and more.

To combat this, we offer a cleanse protocol with various Standard Process and MediHerb supplements to rid your gut of harmful bacteria and maintain a healthy equilibrium of microorganisms and good intestinal flora.

Standard Process Detox Balance and Purification Programs

An excess of toxins commonly found in our bodies has been contributing to fatigue and difficulty sleeping, indigestion and other gastrointestinal upset, food cravings and wight gain, reduced mental clarity, low libido, joint discomfort, and more. We work with you to assess the source of toxins in your life with the Toxicity Questionnaire and Systems Survey Form to provide a personalized assessment of your needs.

We can help get you started on a path to purification with the Detox Balance Program or 21-Day Purification Program:

The Standard Process Detox Balance Program provides key nutrients and phytonutrients during all three phases of detoxification that unlock, neutralize, and eliminate toxins. The simple 28-day or 10-day protocol features a tasty, all-in-one detox shake supported by sample meals.

The 21-Day Purification Program isn’t just a cleanse diet. It’s a structured program that brings healthy lifestyle habits into focus. It’s designed to purify, nourish, and help patients maintain a healthy body weight by eating whole foods, exercising, drinking nutritious shakes, and taking supplements made with whole food and other ingredients.

Omega-3 Index

Omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) help maintain heart, brain, eye, and joint health. By not only helping to improve heart and cognitive function, a higher Omega-3 Index can contribute to slower aging*. By using Standard Process’s Omega-3 Index testing kit, we can help identify a deficiency in Omega-3 and provide solutions to correct this. Your Omega-3 Index report provides the following results:

  • The Omega-3 Index
  • Omega-6/Omega-3 ratio
  • AA/EPA ration
  • Trans Fat Index

These measures all respond to what one eats. Everyone responds differently to diet changes so the only way to know is to test. We recommend testing every 4 months to confirm you are getting the right mix of fats in your diet.
